Deem Hills Park Pickleball: A North Phoenix Neighborhood Gem

Deem Hills Park Pickleball Courts

Our goal is to share details about public pickleball courts in and around the Phoenix area, where any pickleball player can play with no fees or memberships required to play.

If you are looking for high-quality, quiet courts in the North Phoenix area, Deem Hills Park (also known as Deem Hills Community Park) is a fantastic discovery. Tucked away at the rear of a quiet residential community near 51st Ave and Happy Valley Rd, this park offers a more intimate playing experience compared to the larger, more crowded regional hubs.

The standout feature here is the quality of the facilities. Added to the park in 2021, the two dedicated pickleball courts are relatively new, well-maintained, and—crucially for Arizona summers—equipped with lights for evening play. Because of its tucked-away location, Deem Hills is often less busy than other North Valley spots, making it an ideal “secret spot” for local residents.

We visited Deem Hills Park first-hand to see if the “big drive” was worth it. In the guide below, we cover the court specifics, where to park for the easiest access, and why this park is one of the cleanest facilities in the Phoenix area.

PRO-TIP: Because Deem Hills is located deep within a residential community, it doesn’t get the “drive-by” traffic that other parks do. If you’re tired of waiting for a court at busier North Phoenix locations, the extra few minutes of driving to reach Deem Hills is often well worth it.

The amenities at Deem Hills Park include two lighted sports fields, one lighted basketball, volleyball, and tennis court, a very nice and well-appointed playground, ramadas, grills, and of course, the pickleball courts.

How Many Pickleball Courts Are at Deem Hills Park?

Deem Hills Park Pickleball Courts

The Deem Hills Park pickleball courts have two outdoor dedicated courts with permanent lines and lights to enable evening play.

These courts are relatively new, and they are in great shape from what I could see on my visit to the park.  Because of the location of this park, I am sure it draws virtually all locals from the surrounding area, so I don’t see these courts being too busy for open play.

There is plenty of parking at Deem Hills Park located right next to the pickleball courts.  And there are restrooms not far from the courts just a short walk past the playground.

If there are additional public pickleball courts in the area that we might have missed, please let us know by leaving a comment on our Facebook page or sending us an email directly.  We will try to visit the courts and add them to our Phoenix pickleball courts directory as long as they are open to the public for anyone to play.
